Built by a music teacher, for music teachers.

The Story Behind MusicTeachingPal

I've spent the last 25 years teaching music, primarily in the traditional music world. Much of that time has been spent teaching one-to-one lessons and smaller groups.

Throughout those years, I've always felt there was a need for a simple way to manage the everyday running of a teaching studio — keeping track of payments, organising schedules and making sure everything was in order before lessons began and between classes.

I often found myself jumping between different apps and tools to get things done. One for scheduling, another for recording audio, something else for tracking payments, and messaging apps for keeping in touch with parents.

At the same time, I was working in software development. Eventually, I started thinking: Why not bring all of these everyday tasks together in one straightforward app, designed specifically for music teachers?

That was the idea behind MusicTeachingPal.

I wanted to create something that would make studio management easier: a simple scheduler, payment tracker, audio recording tools and an easy way to communicate with parents — without unnecessary complexity or awkward conversations about outstanding payments.

MusicTeachingPal is the result of that idea, and it's still evolving.

I'd be delighted if you gave it a try. Whether you're managing a handful of students or running a busy teaching studio, I'd love to hear what works for you, what could be improved and what you'd like to see added.

MusicTeachingPal is being built with music teachers in mind, and your feedback can help shape what comes next.
